Chijmes Blues and Soul Series

May 2003

May 18th - The Chijmes Blues and Soul Series rolls along for the second installment of the 3-part series. Celebrating Chicago Blues "From Muddy to Buddy", Lil Lloyd and the Blues Virus played a set of raunchy, gutbucket blues from Elmore James and Junior Wells to Howlin Wolf and other Chicago blues icons. Their performance was followed by a short preview of "3 Men and a Boot", an upcoming musical starring some of Singapore's most talented actors/singers/dancers. Singing and performing renditions of blues and jazz classics they received a warm response from the appreciative crowd. ublues band follow for another set of blues, joined by guest Smokey on harmonica, to round off another successful Chijmes Blues Series.
